Highway #63

Thanks to John Matthews for sharing the song he wrote about Highway #63.
He performed it at the rally on Saturday, May 5.

Cry Out…. for Hwy 63
by John Matthews

Another life is lost
Its terrible news they say!
Innocent people need know there’s
More then; just hope and pray!

Don’t care how you do it
Just how long it takes?
Call in the army if you have to
We’re sick of losing mates

Cry out!  At the shame
Cry out!  Who’s the blame?
How many people must die?
Before this road’s twin lane?
Is it more about the dollars? Then
What makes good sense!
Highway 63’s a lifeline,
Get off that bloody fence

Cry out!  At the shame
Cry out!  Who’s the blame?
How many people must die?
Before this road’s twin lane?

Always there will be
This flaw in humanity that
Someone’s life will come unstuck
‘Cause someone’s testing luck

Don’t care how you do it
Just how long it takes?
Call in the army if you have to
We’re sick of losing mates
We’re sick of losing mates

Cry out!  At the shame
Cry out!  Who’s the blame?
How many people must die?
Before this road’  twin lane
